Julie Biggs is a classical cross-over/adult contemporary singer who performs classical songs with a contemporary twist. Her second album Passions: Art of Seduction is available digitally online and is distributed nationally by Outside. Julie performs solo as well as with her 5 piece band-electric violin, bass, guitar, keyboard and percussion. Julie’s debut album My Loving Days (Amorosi miei giorni) was released in 2001 and was nominated for a Prairie Music Award for Outstanding Classical Recording.

Julie has performed in many operas and musicals including recent appearances with the Burton Cummings Theatre 100th anniversary gala; with the Fargo-Moorhead Opera Company; the Western Plains Opera Company; the Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Winnipeg; and The Little Opera Company.

Julie has given many concerts and recitals in Canada, the United States and abroad. She has performed with The Minot Symphony, the Ost-West Symphony, The Missouri Valley Chamber Orchestra, Pan-American Games, The International Peace Gardens, and the Manitoba Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.

In addition to performing Julie teaches at the Manitoba Conservatory of Music and Arts and the University of Manitoba’s Prepatory Studies. She is an active member of the Association of Manitoba Arts Festivals (AMAF) and adjudicates throughout the province. Julie has been a longtime Manitoba Audio Recording Industry Association (MARIA) member and recently judged the classical music categories of the Western Canadian Music Awards and the Juno’s.
