Big Fun is an annual indie music festival taking place in multiple venues throughout Winnipeg's downtown the last weekend of January. Using Winnipeg’s prairie winter as the backdrop, Big Fun showcases the wealth of Manitoba’s artists alongside our historic downtown.
The goal of Big Fun is to present various genres of music over the course of four days. Big Fun runs from Thursday evening to Sunday afternoon (Jan. 24-27, 2013) with multiple shows each night. Big Fun encourages venue hopping with the use of commercial and non-commercial venues alike. Each show is curated to give the audience and artists a unique and memorable experience.
Manitoba maintains a reputation for having a rich artistic community as well as a bitter winter. Big Fun brings these two elements of our province together as an annual event our prairie town can be proud of.
Big Fun Productions is comprised of four Winnipeg musicians and music lovers who are passionate about their city. Inspired by the layout of Pop Montreal and NXNE, Big Fun aims to create the same excitement within the music and art community in Winnipeg, by hosting several events throughout the year.
