Brian James grew up playing the piano as a child and the trumpet in school and eventually the guitar in high school hallways and in church on Sunday mornings. He started a band with a couple Wolsely boys that became known as Quinzy and they were/are beloved.
After amicably splitting up with Quinzy in 2007, Brian went on to produce and write a couple records with indie folk darling Kerri Woelke for Signpost Records as well as tour, record and write with such notable main stream artists as Bryce Pallister, Jerry Sereda, Matt Epp and Jicah. He played guitar on the Juno Winning self titled Amanda Falk album. On top of this he was director of the youth band at St. Aiden's Anglican church for five years.
Now Brian is working with long time collaborator, Juno winning, Grammy Nominated producer Jordan Jackiew to release a steady flow of singles and eps released digitally. The music has roots in folk, R&B and southern rock but is mostly just groovy and catchy as can be. His band "Brian James and the Tigers" is gaining notoriety as one of the most high energy and talented live shows in town. But don't take my word for it. Listen to what those who work with him have to say...
"I've always known Brian as a man as passionate about about music as he is about life. He's known around town as the guitar player's guitar player, but this new collection proves him to be an accomplished producer and songwriter as well, with a unique and adventurous musical vision."- Glen Willows
"Say whatever you want man. I'll back you up!!"- Phil Deschaumbault
