What’s better than Toronto in November? Manitoba Music in Toronto in November! Manitoba Music is heading back to the city for another electrifying showcase of stellar music from the prairie province. On November 22, Supermarket will play host to an exciting event featuring Polaris long-lister Greg MacPherson, indie rock outfit Les Jupes, pop/rockers The Details, and singer/songwriter Tom Keenan.

“We’re thrilled to be back in Toronto again this year, bringing another crop of stellar Manitoba talent,” says Sara Stasiuk, Manitoba Music’s executive director. “It’s a big year of great successes for Manitoba artists, in Canada and beyond. After showcases in Germany, New York City, and the Yukon, we’re excited to showcase this world-class lineup for our friends in the Toronto music industry and help these artists reach their next level of success”

MacPherson and Les Jupes spent some of this fall showcasing and touring in Germany and solidifying some lucrative deals, including a label signing to Instrument Village for Les Jupes. The Details and Keenan have each criss-crossed Canada in support of their latest releases.

Manitoba Music packed them in last November, for a show featuring Imaginary Cities, Del Barber, The Lytics, and Royal Canoe. All four acts had a big year, including a Polaris nod and European tours for Imaginary Cities, and Juno nod and management deal with Paquin for Barber, a deal with Camobear Records for The Lytics, and several successful tours for Royal Canoe.

The Toronto showcase is an initiative of Manitoba Music’s Market Development Program, which is funded by the Government of Canada and Province of Manitoba through the Canada-Manitoba Economic Partnership Agreement. Through events like these, Manitoba Music is able to increase the level of awareness and connectedness between our province’s music industry and the broader national and international industry, which is vital to the career advancement of Manitoba artists and industry professionals.
