About

Actor, singer, and lifetime philanthropist Tom Jackson brings his nationwide tour The Huron Carole – A Musical to cities across Canada   It is an enchanting musical re-enactment of the very first Huron Carole concert that took place in 1987. The second half incorporates traditional seasonal music from a remarkable and memorable Canadian cast.

The Huron Carole – A Musical – is Tom’s nationwide call to Canadians—a message of hope and inspiration to eliminate hunger this holiday season. Along with fellow award-winning Canadian artists Beverley Mahood, Shannon Gaye, Don Amero, and Carly and Britt McKillip of One More Girl, Tom aims to put Canada’s food banks in the spotlight. Says Tom, “With the strength of each artist’s unique talent, we intend to expand our fundraising ability, and create awareness with this revealing and heartfelt story of how this entire campaign began.”

Honoring 27 years of fundraising history, Jackson’s varied philanthropic national projects have generated over $200 million in combined cash/in-kind donations for food banks and disaster relief. The 2014 concert tourwill begin in Victoria on November 30 and end in Calgary on December 18. Presenting Sponsor of the tour is Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life.

Tom Jackson, founder of The Huron Carole Benefit Concert Series, is a musician, beloved TV personality (North of 60, Star Trek, Law and Order), and long-time champion for the marginalized. Having experienced life on the streets himself, he discovered music was his way out – and an opportunity to help others.

The Huron Carole is a project of the Christmas & Winter Relief Association whose mandate is to support organizations doing hands-on work with the homeless and hungry in Canada.
