About
LANIKAI
Indie-pop with a tinge of soul. Formerly of the band Imaginary Cities, Marti Sarbit is setting off on a new project she calls Lanikai where she pulls sonic influence from artists/bands like The Beatles, The Flaming Lips, Emily Haines and Sia.
ATLAAS
Debuting at the Big Fun festival in January 2014, featured as one of JUNOfest's top 5 can’t-miss bands by Toronto’s Aesthetic Magazine and playing on a float in Winnipeg’s Pride Parade, indie electronic pop duo ATLAAS have been turning heads. Dreamy vocals and raucous guitar riffs punctuate ATLAAS’ music, transporting audiences with a sound described by CBC music as “like Bjork grew up on the prairies listening to Kraftwerk and Motown."
PAISLEY
Five-piece Winnipeg alt-pop band, Paisley, has been described as a cross between the Smiths and Young the Giant. Head bobbing, hip-shaking, party pop delivered with a sly wink and a wall of complex rhythms and bold melodies are hallmarks of their growing body of original material. The maturity of their song craft defies the expectations placed on a young band, exploring the universal themes of love, loss, and desire.
