JD and the Sunshine Band takes stories, slang and humour off the streets of Winnipeg, gives them a backbeat and melody and puts them back on the road with a new swagger. The results are undeniably Winnipeg, like slurpees in January. Known for their raucous live show that infuses country and folk music with Main street sensibilities and humour, the band has warmed their way into the hardest of hearts.
The band released their first cd in 2014 to widespread acclaim.
With shows that have spanned from humble north end soup kitchens to the big stages (Interstellar Rodeo, Harvest Moon Festival, Rainbow Trout Music Festival), the band has carried their good vibes across the cultural spectrum.
