From humble beginnings in 2009, Winnipeg singer/songwriter Don Amero decided to plan a Christmas themed concert based purely on his love for holiday music and the community vibe that the season brings. “We all know there’s something magical about Christmas and my hope is to capture some of that and put it into a show” explains Don Amero. The holiday season is about giving, which is a component Amero takes special care to include.
This will be the fourth time that the WECC has hosted Amero Little Christmas. “It started out quite humbly in a smaller room but we outgrew that space and the WECC was the perfect room for where we are at. The WECC is a huge support to local music and was very pleased to help me in the planning of a great evening. It doesn’t hurt that the WECC has an amazing staff, space and sound system” says Amero.
On a literal level, Amero Little Christmas will be filled with great music, lots of laughs and inspiring stories. You can count on Don to throw a few fun and festive videos together that really put the icing on the cake and are always a big laugh. On another level, the show sets a tone for people to refocus on what the season is really about, which to Amero means “to relax, look at the blessings in your life and show love to others.”
