About

PANICLAND
A burgeoning Canadian pop band with a do-it-yourself mentality, determination and drive, Panicland aren’t one to let obstacles stop them from promoting what they love – their music. Comprised of Braedon Basseo (vocals and guitar), Riley Basseo (guitar), Ian Willmer (bass) and Travis Hunnie (drums), Panicland recently released their newest single “Bad Word.” Priding themselves on having the hustle it takes to succeed, citing Canadian sensations The Weeknd, Justin Bieber and Alessia Cara as role models, Panicland are determined to prove that the new generation of Canadian musicians are as aggressive and driven as any other artist on the international stage.

Producing pop-driven tunes with catchy chorus beats, lead vocalist Braedon Basseo mentioned his inspiration behind writing “Bad Word” but also touches on the Panicland take on pop music, "I'm extremely proud of the fact that our first single is one that I wrote and produced 100% myself at home. I wanted ‘Bad Word' to have some attitude and old school rock n' roll spirit to it. I'd love to prove that pop music doesn't have to be dumbed down and can be dangerous by taking clichés of pop music and turning them on themselves."

Their assertive approach has them on the radar of the biggest players in the U.S.; Braedon Basseo’s co-writing credits include Gavin Brown (Metric, Billy Talent, 3 Days Grace), Joe Cruz (Carly Rae Jepsen) and Tommy Mac (Hedley). As an independent band, Panicland have accomplished an incredible amount for their career, and it is only getting started.

The week of August 1st, Bad Word debuted at Canada radio as the #1 most added single on the Top 40 radio chart!
