About

Blessed

"The new EP finds the group exploring territory akin to Television, Wire, Deerhoof, and Liars. Experimenting with the additions of programmed drums, synthesizers, and no limits on how short or long a song could be. Blessed has crafted a four song EP that clocks in at 26 minutes spanning an even vaster sonic landscape than their previous EP. Frantic yet calculated, wiry yet groove oriented, the group are expanding the definition of what a young rock band can sound like and still maintain it's core sound.

"post-punk blown out to a prog-rock scope. Each hard-hitting, rhythmically heavy segment is topped off by jagged guitar lines"
-Stereogum

Blessed’s sound is weird, noisy and harsh, drawing from surf, rock and post-punk in equal measure. It's if Radiohead decided to go back to playing guitars and singing actual words with a Siouxsie and the Banshees twist.
- Noisey"

Slow Spirit
Canadian indie sound explorers from Winnipeg and rural prairie towns, Slow Spirit sounds like a post-rock re-visitation of Joni Mitchell’s 70s jazz-fusion ideologies. Snapshot lyricism is set to sprawling melodies, overdriven fingerpicking, self-oscillating delays, down-sampled synthesizers, lydian parallel harmony, and polyrhythmic breakbeats.

Fox Lake
Stripping away the progressive bent of their previous projects, Fox Lake's mathy pop-punk is the kind of Kinsella-worship that gets straight to scratching the itch. Slinky, ping-pong riffs drive their songs through the gang-harmonies and indulgent post-rock that completes their sound. On the momentum of last year's Late Again... demo, Fox Lake are gearing up to record their debut full-length in late-2017.
