About
Joel Link, Bryan Lee, violins
Milena Pajaro-van de Stadt, viola
Camden Shaw, cello
The Dover Quartet is so stunning that we booked them for a return engagement even before they played a note in their 2015 Virtuosi Concerts debut. They swept all the prizes at the 2013 Banff International String Quartet Competition and have since performed hundreds of concerts around the world.
“Triumph of the Spirit” was designed to commemorate two Holocaust composers, Simon Laks and Viktor Ullman. The concert date anticipates a week of remembering – the 79th anniversary of Kristallnacht (Nov. 9) and Remembrance Day (Nov. 11). The sadness and grief associated with these events is paradoxically defused and transformed by the emotional power of all four of the concert’s string quartets reflecting beauty, joy, hope and love.
The Dover Quartet “is sublime”. – The Strad
