Ali Fontaine
"Say It To Me"

From the album Ali Fontaine

Featured track, available from November 3 to November 10

Ali Fontaine is having quite the year. The young singer/songwriter from Sagkeeng First Nation released her self-titled debut, which was greeted by four award nominations, including three Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Award nods, including Single of the Year. At a press conference on November 2, which kicked off this year's Manito Ahbee Festival, Fontaine was also presented with the award for Most Outstanding Manitoban, which is given annually to an emerging Aboriginal artist. Fontaine won the NCI Jam in 2010 when she was just 16 years old and landed on this year's Manitoba Star Attractions Talent Showcase compilation CD. She'll be at the West End Cultural Centre on November 3, performing for Aboriginal Music Week's songwriters concert, along with locals Cassidy Mann and Kyla Cederwall, and NWT's Leela Gilday. Fontaine's latest single, the APCMA-nominated "Say It To Me", is our featured download this week. Catch Fontaine live at AMW 2011, listen for her name at the APCMAs on November 4, and watch her New York-filmed video for "Say It To Me" right here.
