Lucas Sader is paying homage to one of music's most innovative and influential artist, Miles Davis, and his legendary '60s quintet. With his debut album, Apollo: Tribute to the Miles Davis Quintet, the composer/drummer/arranger brings together world-renowned trumpeter Derrick Gardner, alto/tenor saxophonist Paul Balcain, pianist Paul De Gurse, and bassist Karl Kohut for the Lucas Sader Project. In addition to interpretations of jazz standards arranged by Davis' quintet, the album features three original compositions by Sader, including the album's title track, which is our featured song this week.
