Ultra Mega
"Mariah"

From the album Ultra Mega

Featured track, available from February 23 to March 3

It's been a long road for Ultra Mega's debut album. Recorded back in 2011 at Winnipeg's Sonic Backline Studios by Eusebio Lopez- Aguilar and mixed by the band's drummer Aaron Johnston at HMS Arlington and Matt Peters at Private Ear Studios, the long-shelved and nearly-forgotten self-titled album is finally making its way to your ears via local label Transistor 66 Recording Co. Ultra Mega is set to release the album in an ultra mega way... the band is taking over The Good Will on March 3 for an epic tri-album release that also celebrates fellow Transistor 66ers Smoky Tigr's Great Western Gold and Blond(e) Goth's self-titled recording (also available on cassette via Eat Em Up Records). The three releases include collaboration by members of all three groups who will share the stage at the event as one performing collective dubbed “The Manitobanits”. Championing and exposing life in Winnipeg and Manitoba, the uber band blends a handful of genres, including rock, folk, blues, psych, and country music in a multi-fronted, guitar- and organ-led song circle. We've got Ultra Mega's tune "Mariah" for you as this week's featured download. Get it, check out all the albums, and do not miss The Manitobandits live. Seriously.
