Alpha Toshineza is heating things up on city stages this month. The Luxembourg-born Francophone hip hop artist is serving up fresh tunes at the MB Live at The Cube free lunchtime concert series on August 9 in Old Market Square. He'll also bring his music back to The Forks on August 11 for the Canada Games Festival, after making his main stage debut last month on Canada Day. The versatile artist kicked off the year with the release of his critically-acclaimed album, Jazz Inuit, which helped earn him a 2017 Western Canadian Music Award nomination for Francophone Artist of the Year. He's also performed with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra at the Manitoba, mon amour gala and played Rame à La Rencontre and Festival du Voyageur this year. Next up, he'll head to Yellowknife to perform at Chant’Ouest and then make his way to Edmonton for a coveted showcase spot at BreakOut West.
