The new multi-day music and digital arts festival, Manitoba Electronic Music Exhibition (MEME), hits indoor and outdoor city venues June 17-20. With electronic music performances, large scale projection, and video installations, MEME (pronounced "meem") also features educational clinics and workshops, digital visual artists, and new media installations. The first event of its kind in western Canada, this year's event features dozens of artists from four countries, including 27 Manitoba artists like electro house trio Lebeato, electronic label Balanced Records co-founder Kasm, acclaimed producer/DJ/composer Joe Silva.

Silva, whose music is featured in acclaimed local film Black Field, has just launched a new house EP collaboration with Viva! Recordings label boss, Jon Lemmon. Released on Tango Recordings, the EP comes with several remixes by international artists, and includes one by Silva himself. The entire release is available for download and is already climbing the DJ charts on Beatport.com and Stompy.com. An exclusive radio edit of Silva's remix of "Them Apples" is this week's download. Get it for free from The Loudspeaker and check out Silva and many more at this year's MEME festival.
