Country/folk singer/songwriter Melissa Plett is ready to follow up her 2006 EP, Repeated Stories, with a new recording, Outside the City. Featuring her band These Guys -- including acclaimed bass player Marie-Josee Dandaneau, Dust Rhinos fiddler/mandolinist Dale Brown, and Quinzy drummer David Pankratz -- the new release was recorded live in just three hours at Private Ear Recording with producer John Paul Peters (Matt Epp, The Waking Eyes). Plett and her band will be at the Park Theatre on September 2 to launch the CD, and you can also catch them at Le Garage on August 30 and on the Ciclovia outdoor stage at on September 12.
