I grew up in Winnipeg's North End continuously hearing about its proud musical heritage, most notably The Guess Who. My father was and still is a musician in his own right and continues to be a large influence for me. I started playing piano at the age of 5 until I was 12, and then decided to take up guitar when piano lessons became too boring to take. After a few years I took up piano again, playing on my own time and playing songs I wanted to play such as the Beatles, Jimmy Eat World and Coldplay. Soon after I began to compose some of my own songs on both guitar and piano. My sound could be compared to Dallas Green's City and Colour, Keane, David Usher, Travis, and Muse. I tend to be a softer spoken individual, so having music as a way of expressing myself is very important to me as well as being an outlet from many things that happen around me.
