Gt. DANE is the ongoing pop-noir murder-mystery of D. Moore, rural Manitoban, and not-so-secret toxicologist. Frontman for Winnipeg's ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS, Moore has shared the stage with such acts as the New Pornographers, the Hidden Cameras, Tokyo Police Club, Dan Mangan, and Plants & Animals.
His first solo effort, "MOURNING YER HOST, Gt. DANE", is a vinyl E.P. of baroque pop secretly arranged and recorded in Guy Maddin's unheated prop warehouse in downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba during one cold day in January 2011. A ramshackle, from-the-floor effort, the record features members of Les Jupes, SitDown Tracy, and All of Your Friends and is a testament to the ability of Manitobans to not only survive, but to huddle together and thrive in inhospitable conditions.
The second installment in the mystery, "YER WELCOME, Gt.DANE" is a 5 song endeavor recorded with friends on too-short visits home.
