Originating from near London (U.K.) Helen has been immersed in music since her early years. After training in Classical music she expanded her interest in music to writing and performing rock, pop and folk songs with various bands. She has studied electro-acoustic music and jazz in the U.K., the U.S.A. and Canada. Helen has performed and recorded in all three countries, most notably with her new release No (More) Dinosaur Bones (2009) - a diverse and exciting mix and folk, jazz and British pop sensibility. Since completing her M.Mus in Performance Helen has performed at the Winnipeg Jazz Festival 2009, in the Mardi Jazz series 2009, as well as performing at various venues around Winnipeg. She has organized several charity concerts and has also provided regular performance opportunities for her students around the city. Helen has been the Director of the University of Winnipeg Downtown Vocal Jazz Choir since 2008. She has been teaching for over ten years and currently teaches at Quest Musique and at Portage Conservatory of Music.
