Lev Snowe

Electronic Indie Pop Singer/songwriter

Lev Snowe

About

Poet, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, Lev Snowe finds stillness catching perfect words from the sky, fusing them with earthly guitar, synth, or whatever it takes to translate daily idiosyncrasy into ethereal astro-pop poetry. Flung out like distorted neons across the wistful horizon, Lev’s whimsical tales burst from their home-studio confines, formlessly alive, forever.

With a surname well-suited for his hometown of Winnipeg, Snowe, 25, began crafting his brand of fluid, fluorescent indie music as a 17-year-old, performing in bars and at festivals where he could not yet purchase a beer. A proud oddball who fits in by standing out like a neon sign on the fritz, Snowe is inspired as much by the folkloric traditions of roving storytellers like Bob Dylan, Courtney Barnett and Elliott Smith as he is by the swirling, mesmeric beats of Stereolab, Cocteau Twins, and Madlib.

Over the past decade, and across three self-produced EPs — 2016’s Drifting Off, 2018’s Faded Blue and 2020’s Someday Soon — Snowe has grown into himself, singing in a swooning pitch about low blows dealt and lost dreams remembered. Snowe approaches songwriting as a form of self-documentary, eternally carrying in his pocket a notepad to preserve the matters of his heart.

Orbits of Our Own Pt. 1, Snowe’s forthcoming EP, finds the writer exploring the galactic void of the pandemic, the precarity of individualism, and the unparalleled power of company.  Snowe’s first release in over three years, Orbits of Our Own shimmers, representing the most lyrically direct and refined work he’s released so far in his career.
