Recorded on Dec 7th, 2009 at The Lo Pub in Winnipeg, Canada. "So High From The Lo", brings together some of Winnipeg's best; Jason Banman (Drums), Julian Bradford (Bass), Mark Penner (Guitar) and conductor/ DJ Hunnicutt backing Nestor Wynrush. Canadian beatmaking stalwarts; mcenroe, Kutdown, soso, Grand Analog and newcomer Lonnie Ce get their beats reworked and remixed as the band plays selections from the Wynrush Catalog. Stories are shared, drums hit hard, the bass warmly caresses the soul and the Hip Hop blues smoothly travels down the throat.
The recording becomes a spontaneous celebration of Winnipeg Hip Hop. Cass's voice booms the intro, DJ Co-op can be heard heckling, Hunnicutt "turns an age" and the 15th anniversary of Peanuts and Corn is announced as The Shadez "Next School Pioneers" is discussed. Sparkling wine gets popped as the audience sounds alive & enthousiastic.
I am aware that servicing the media with a digital copy is not the best format but it's currently the only format for this record. Marathon of Dope is a digital Belgium/Winnipeg based "pay-what-you-want" label.
