"This misleadingly simple blues song--that starts out as a kind of classic jukebox/bar band missive from one forlorn lover to the one too fearful of taking that chance at love--transcends both lyrically and in the strength of the woman singing. And that bit about the psychological perspicacity: "If only you could push your fears aside . . . we could make it someday." Nice. Aside from a great band, the woman singing here exudes a seductive mix of Motown R&B, Nashville Americana, and Aussie rocker".
