“I’ll be sleeping in my car, as I have done for three of my last four tours,” Struthers explains. “People always ask me how I stay clean/healthy. The answer…YMCA pass. It’s so refreshing to hit the track/shower after a 13 hour marathon drive.”
While James will be travelling the 34 day, 15,000 km, 27 show coast-to-coast tour alone, he will be far lonely on stage since he will team up with local talent in every city visited including most of Canada’s major metropolitan areas and some smaller gems.
Although James now has a solid publicity team behind him including Manager Glen Willows (Inward Eye, Ash Koley), it’s near impossible for him to drop his “DIY-or-die” attitude in terms of self-promotion.
“I’ve never met an artist so focussed, passionate and determined to connect with his fans and get himself branded, whether through social media sites or non-stop touring,” says Willows. “He is a happily-married combination of brilliant musicianship and savvy businessman; which is essential in today’s music business.”
Kicking off the tour with a hometown CD Release show in Winnipeg on August 13th, James will head West for a few shows before making his way East to end it all in Barrie, Ontario in mid-September. He will also continue to release new material and music videos over the next few months through his newly revamped official website.
