In an unprecedented move, Rambling Dan Frechette will release 4 albums over the next 5 weeks. His first two releases will be celebrated at The Folk Exchange on Saturday, February 24, 2012 with his release of “Hello Goodbye Town” and “Life Without Home”. Rambling Dan is satisfying his bluegrass itch and releasing two bluegrass CD’s on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 7 p.m. (come early for a 6 p.m dinner) at Pop Soda’s Coffeehouse and Gallery (at Portage Ave. and Furby St.). “The Bluegrass Album” features a selection of 13 Rambling Dan’s best bluegrass songs performed with the fabulous talents of Robert Allan Wrigley (banjo), Tim Longbottom (upright bass), Patti Lamoureux (fiddle), Jane Cory (fiddle/vocals), Alex Lamoureux (fiddle), Jeremy Rusu (mandolin), Emma Cloney (vocals) and Rambling Dan on Guitar/Vocals/Dobro and a few songs on banjo. This album will be released the same night at “Quick Walk Hard Road” a re-release almalgamation of two albums Rambling Dan released in 2007/2008 (“A Quick Walk With Me” and “Hitting The Hard Road Straight”). “Breaking my wrist took the fluff out of my playing, it made me focus on what notes count. Since then I’ve also been fortunate enough to figure out what songs count as well”.
Tickets for the bluegrass CD release party go on sale at Pop Soda’s on Friday, February 10, 2012 at noon. Tickets are $10 in advance and tickets can be used the night of the concert to turn in for a $10 dollar discount off the $20 price of the CD. “Quick Walk Hard Road” will be on sale that night at a discount for $10.
