Solar-powered Street Funk at The Manitoba Marathon

Urban Street Funk hit the streets last Sunday morning. Performing for the 4th year for the Manitoba Marathon, they entertained runners en-route as they passed under the Donald Street Bridge.

Winnipeg's hottest funkrock duo have no need of a wall outlet to provide power for their P.A. system.

" Our solar-powered rig lets us play wherever we want, " says electric guitarist and vocalist, Karen Taylor. "This was our fourth year performing for the runners. We play with a very high-energy sound, lots of thumping bass in the guitar and, the right-on-the-money super-funky drumming of Scott Young. We love cheering on the runners and always get lots of reciprocal cheers and waves. I mean, really, lots of people who were walking, picked up the pace and started running when they came within range of our music."

Urban Street Funk-jumpin' and jivin' all around town in this one great city. Check them out on their FUSE Tour-more info can be found at https://www.facebook.com/UrbanStreetFunk?ref=aymt_homepage_panel
