Inward Eye Inks Deal with American Label

One of Manitoba's hottest bands has announced that it will ink a deal with a major American record label. Rock trio Inward Eye is signing a deal with New York label J Records, a subsidiary of SonyBMG run by Clive Davis who is famed for discovering the likes of Bruce Springsteen and Pink Floyd. Comprised of three brothers from St. Vital, Inward Eye will be joining an impressive roster that includes Pearl Jam, Santana, Annie Lennox, and Billy Joel.

Inward Eye's Dave, Kyle and Anders Erickson along with manager Glen Willows have spent the last several months negotiating, showcasing for industry, and building a rabid fanbase with their stunning live performances. The band has been surrounded by a mammoth buzz for well over a year with interest from five different major U.S. labels.

Formed in 2000, the Erickson brothers began performing in local clubs while still in their teens. Bassist Dave is the eldest at 22. Guitarist Kyle is 20 and drummer Anders is 18. The trio hooked up with Ontario management company Coalition Entertainment - home to local acts The Waking Eyes and Hurst - which led to showcase gigs in New York and the J Records signing.

Inward Eye will continue to strengthen its live show chops and building its audience in the coming year without rushing to record an album. The band may record an EP in coming months and intend to release an album toward the end of 2006, produced by Coalition's Arnold Lanni (The Waking Eyes, Our Lady Peace, Simple Plan).

Catch Inward Eye in Winnipeg on November 10 at 9pm at the Pyramid with The High Dials.
