Manitoba Songwriter Signs with Publishing Giant

Award-winning songwriter/producer Phil Deschambault has signed a deal with one of the most prominent music publishing companies around today: EMI Music Publishing Canada. Deschambault frequently collaborates with vocalist Ash Koley, and has composed work for local, national, and international film, television, and commercials. EMI Music Publishing owns one of the largest catalogs of songs in the world, containing more than a million contemporary and classic titles. It has an impressive and established roster of songwriters and the company has won, and continues to win, more industry accolades and publisher of the year awards than any other music publisher. Its catalogue of best-selling songs includes "Bohemian Rhapsody," "I Heard It Through The Grapevine," and "Wild Thing." EMI's roster includes big names like Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Nelly Furtado, Arcade Fire, Duffy and the Scissor Sisters.

Deschambault has been working with Winnipeg-based music management company, Burning Circus Management, headed by former Harlequin guitar player Glen Willows. BCM artists include J Records trio Inward Eye, Ash Koley, and Sons of York. Willows was also instrumental in the development of Winnipeg recording acts such as McMaster & James and Remy Shand.
