Eleven Manitoba acts will head east next week as Canada’s largest music conference and festival takes over Toronto. North by Northeast (NXNE), which runs June 17-21, features an industry conference and popular showcase performances by over 500 artists in 40 different downtown venues.Showcasing this year at NXNE are alt.rockers The Details and Novillero, rock bands Haunter, The Furr, Inward Eye, and American Flamewhip, punk/pop trio AM Glory, roots acts Twilight Hotel and Del Barber, and hip-hop outfits Grand Analog and The Lytics. AM Glory’s manager, Glen Willows of Burning Circus Management, will also make the trip.
Manitoba Music and MANITOBA FILM & MUSIC will host the 15th annual Manitoba BBQ on June 19 atop the Drake Hotel. The BBQ provides Manitobans at NXNE with the opportunity to network with some of the biggest names in the industry. This exclusive, invite-only party is one of the hottest events of the conference.
