Live at the West End Returns

Posted on

Live at the West End returns with two shows on January 11 and 12. Just like last year, the shows will be recorded for air on MTS TV Winnipeg On Demand sometime before the end of the year. The series grew out of a special televised concert in 2007, which was broadcast on Shaw TV.

The spirit of having two artists of different genres share a stage adds to the appeal of the live shows. This time around, Live at the West End features a new roster.  Blues rocker JD Edwards, and singer/songwriter Patrick Keenan grace the stage on the 11. Acclaimed soprano Julie Biggs, and celtic rockers the Dust Rhinos perform on the 12. Both nights promise to be a rollicking good time.

If the format sticks from last year, then each episode will feature the artists’ full performance and an interview. The shows will then be made available as an MTS Freeview in its Winnipeg On Demand section. Last year’s performances are still available to watch, featuring J.P. Hoe (and a cooking lesson), Dr. Rage & the Uppercuts, Cat Jahnke, and more.

Stayed tuned for the new episodes later this year.

Doors for each show open at 7:15pm, and admission is free. Bring your outside voices.

The CBC television will be picking up this MTS show and distributing it at a later date.
