Angel Calnek and Darrell Sandmoen of Hillbilly Burlesque will be performing at Girls Just Wanna Rock #5, a coffee house featuring local women musicians.
Angel has been on hiatus from music since last September due to complications from her heart attack earlier in 2009. She's anxious to get back to the stage for soulful renditions of blues and country blues with the rockin' Hillbilly Burlesque and this performance will be a good warm up. Angel comes full circle with this gig as she began her long career in music performing at local coffee houses.
"I still love the intimacy of the coffee house performance and the opportunity to really connect with the entire audience." says Calnek.
The Coffee House features a rare performance by Kim Segal, an original member of the Wyrd Sisters. Singer/songwriter Deb Romeyn, a Manitoba Music member will perform her stellar original music. Other Manitoba Music members, Vanessa Kuzina of Oh My Darling, Melissa Plett and Suss are also on the bill.
The event is rounded out by Jan Smith, Dallas Crawford and the trio of Lori McCarville, Gloria Enns and Leigh Chenoweth.
