James Keelaghan Selected for Folk Alliance Showcase

Folk giant James Keelaghan has been officially selected to showcase at the prestigious North American Folk Music and Dance Alliance, one of the biggest and most important conferences in the world of folk music, in San Diego in late February, 2004.

A Folk Alliance veteran, Winnipeg-based Keelaghan has earned international acclaim for his songwriting and performances and has taken main stage at some of the best festivals in the US, Canada, England, Australia, Denmark, and Hong Kong. A three-time Juno nominee, Keelaghan won a 1999 Juno award for his album My Skies and continues to be an audience favourite across the world.

The Folk Alliance exists to foster and promote traditional, contemporary and multicultural folk music and dance, and related performing arts in North America. Folk Alliance seeks to strengthen and advance organizational and individual initiatives in folk music and dance through education, networking, advocacy and professional and field development.
