BurnThe8Track Signs with California Label
After showcasing in Los Angeles for a number of major labels and major independent labels, Winnipeg band burnthe8track has signed with Century Media's Abacus Recordings, who will release the band's debut full length CD worldwide. The California-based Abacus is also home to Narcissus, Haste, Radiation 4 and Glass Casket.
The four-piece whose members include brothers Derek and Jason Kun, Sam Osland and Mike Goreski formed in the summer of 2001. In the last two years they have concentrated on touring Canada and the Western United States, and have recently opened for a number of high profile artists including Sum 41, Propagandhi, The Ataris and The Misfits. They released the Division E.P. in March 2003 to positive reviews.
The band will begin recording their debut in October 2003 with Justin Koop, best known for his work with Grade, Jersey, Silverstein and Somehow Hollow. The album will be released in February 2004 in conjunction with extensive touring.
