With over 100 bands in two nights of incredible music in 14 different Winnipeg venues, its no wonder wristbands to JunoFest are starting to fly out of the Ticketmaster office. JunoFest 05 part of the official Juno weekend festivities - will be one of the biggest music parties Winnipeg has ever seen, bringing together some of Manitoba and Canadas best bands and artists. Audiences who havent been able to unearth tickets to the 2005 JUNO Awards will have a chance to catch some of this years nominated artists as well as some exciting up-and-comers at JunoFest.

JunoFest gives fans a chance to experience the vast array of talent that we have in Canada today, said Melanie Berry, President of CARAS, in a press release. It also gives a unique opportunity for artists to congregate and play together in a relaxed club atmosphere.

JunoFest producer Rick Fenton has gathered together 128 different acts covering just about every genre around. Whether you like blues, electronic, roots, rock, punk, or hip-hop, theres something for everyone.

One of the big features of JunoFest is a chance to catch 2005 JUNO Award nominees. Acts like The Wailin Jennys, Gordie Sampson, Feist, Fresh I.E., The Waking Eyes, Nathans Keri McTighe, and Autorickshaw will all take to the stage for hour-long sets at various venues, adding to the fast-building buzz surrounding the weekends events.

Leading up to the Juno weekend are a series of noon-hour Juno countdown concerts, including Madrigaia and BenWah on March 23, and The Wailin Jennys and Easily Amused on March 30. Both concerts are free to the public and take place at the MTS Centre (Graham Street Entrance and the Portage Atrium, respectively). Alana Levandoski will also play a noon-hour set at cityplace on March 30. For a complete list of lead-up events, check out www.winnipegjunos2005.com.
