Ostertag Promoted to CEO at FACTOR

At the June 23rd, FACTOR Annual General Meeting, the Board of Directors unanimously agreed to promote Heather Ostertag from President to that of President and CEO.

This promotion was in recognition of the hard work and the significant contribution that she has made to the development of the foundation. The Board believes that this promotion more accurately reflects the roles and responsibilities that she is currently shouldering.

She has provided exemplary leadership to the organization and has represented the foundation well. She has been well recognized for her contributions to both FACTOR and the Canadian music industry. They include:

• In 2005 she received the Canadian Music Week, Brian Chater Industry Builder Award
• In 2003 she was appointed a Member of the Order of Canada
• In 1999 she was inducted into the RMP Canadian Music Hall of Fame
• In 1996 she was awarded the Ruth Hancock “Friend of the Industry” Award from the Ontario Association of Broadcasters
• In 1995 she was made an Honorary Lifetime Director of the East Coast Music Association

FACTOR’s Chair, Jim West is quoted as saying, “Heather has worked tirelessly in her effort to help promote Canadian talent both domestically and internationally. Her unrelenting support of the Canadian Music Industry combined with her administrative skills and years of superb service at FACTOR, have given the Board of Directors of FACTOR great joy in appointing Heather as its first President and CEO.”
