3 Best Roots acts, 3 Best Aboriginal acts, 1 Best Instrumental... and a partridge in a pear tree.

Phew! Talk about ultimate Manitoba domination! We're taking over the world!!!
Ahem.
Congratulations to all of our Manitoba Juno nominees announced this week.

This week, we take a look at some of the musicians on the nomination list for this year's Juno awards - including Twilight Hotel, Chic Gamine, Tracy Bone and DJ Brace. [See complete list is below]

Plus, an interview with German brother and sister punk rock act, Die Roten Punkte, who brought down the house at last year's Fringe Festival. They're coming back to Winnipeg next week, and we've got their song "Ich Bin Nicht Ein Roboter (I Am A Lion)" to get you in the mood for the insanity.

And - it's the 10th anniversary of CKUW 95.9fm being on the airwaves. Previously a closed-circuit radio station at the University of Winnipeg, CKUW has now grown in to a strong community station. This week is their annual pledge drive and they're kicking it all off with a special concert from Novillero and Oldfolks home. The night is the launch of a really unique Winnipeg project - an album called "CKUW Uncovered". It features local artists covering other locals, including Propagandhi, Grand Analog, Novillero and Vav Jungle. Hear some of that on The (204) this weekend (February 6th)!
