Mess with Texas

The Roots Music Report has tabulated its five-year music tracking process and has released the results: Texas is a great place to be an independent musician.

The RMR announced today the "top 10 states that produce and support independent music" with Texas at number 1. Many of the other named states wouldn't be much of a surprise if you think about their music scenes: North Carolina, Louisiana, New York. I'll admit that Michigan was a puzzler, but then again, someone from Detroit would probably say that about Manitoba. Anyhow, here's the top 10 according the RMR:
