This Summer, Have Your Street Dog with a Side of Music

This summer, you could sit at your desk with your sandwich and check your Twitter or you could head outside for lunch and catch some local talent. The Downtown BIZ’s free Out to Lunch outdoor concert series, which kicks off June 3 with singer/songwriter Ingrid Gatin, offers a summer's worth of live music. The series, now celebrating its 17th year, runs every Wednesday at noon until September 2 at a variety of downtown locations.

In addition to rock, pop, jazz, funk, indie, roots, and country, this year's series will expand to include a couple of special performances, including Strike! The Musical and a special presentation of the can-can by the Royal Winnipeg Ballet to kick off their 70th Anniversary.

Shows are held mainly at Air Canada Park, as well as some special concerts at the Workers Compensation Board, Memorial Park, Edmonton Street (shutdown between Portage & Graham) and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s plaza.
