Jason Smith Named Manitoba Film & Music's New Manager, Music Programs

Jason Smith has just been announced as MANITOBA FILM & MUSIC's new Manager, Music Programs. He replaces Barbara Sedun, who recently took the position of Senior VP of EMI Music Publishing Canada in Toronto.

Smith brings with him over two decades of music industry experience. He has spent the last 14 years as co-owner and operator of successful local label, Smallman Records. Smith has also been production manager with Paquin Entertainment; production manager of Edgefest; has done concert production work for The Union and Live Nation concerts, MuchMusic and the Music West Festival; and fronted and managed local punk mainstay 12 Eyes.

Jason is passionate about growing Manitoba’s music talent pool and possesses an entrepreneurial spirit that includes cutting edge knowledge of the ins and outs of what’s involved in the successful growth of a musician. We are delighted that Jason has accepted the position and look forward to working with him closely to continue to see Manitoba’s music industry flourish.”

Smith will start at MFM on October 26.
