Representatives from several Manitoba-based companies are heading to California next month to do business with some of the music industry’s leading players at MUSEXPO 2011. One of North America’s key music business conferences, MUSEXPO is attended by top international industry professionals, label execs, A&R big wigs, and major television and film music supervisors. The event runs May 1 to May 4 in Hollywood.

Manitoba’s MUSEXPO delegation includes: Songs4media.com’s Chris Burke-Gaffney and Jewls Dengl, producer/songwriter Arun Chaturvedi, Contact Artist Management’s Jack Shapira, Vince Fontaine of Rising Sun Productions, Paquin Entertainment’s Michelle Szeto, Studio 11’s Jason Gordon, singer/songwriter JP Hoe, BreakOut West’s Rick Fenton and Melissa Kaminsky, David Kennedy of Manitoba Trade and Investment, Manitoba Music’s Sara Stasiuk, and MANITOBA FILM & MUSIC’s Carole Vivier and Jason Smith.

For the fifth year in a row, Manitoba Music and MANITOBA FILM & MUSIC will co-host a special networking event for select conference delegates on May 2, and a reception for influential music supervisors hosted with NBC Universal’s Head of TV Music, Alicen Catron Schneider on May 4. Both events offer Manitoba’s artists and companies the opportunity to make and solidify critical business contacts and expand to new markets.

This year’s MUSEXPO delegates include heavy-hitters like Troy Carter (Founder, Chairman/CEO Atom Factory - Lady Gaga’s worldwide manager), Alexandra Patsavas (Founder/Music Supervisor, Chop Shop Music – “Grey’s Anatomy” etc.), Steve Schnur (Worldwide Head of Music & Marketing, EA Games), Ron Fair (Chairman/CEO, Geffen Records), Ron Spaulding (President, Fontana Distribution), and many more.
