The fans have voted and CBC has revealed the winner of its online search for Manitoba's best high school rock band. Eeper Weeper took the top spot in the CBC Rock UTS competition, beating out 27 other entries from students grades 7-12 from Pinawa, Selkirk, Portage la Prairie, Gretna, Flin Flon, Steinbach, and Winnipeg.

Eeper Weeper is a seven-piece ensemble that has members who attend five different local high schools: Westgate Mennonite Collegiate, Vincent Massey Collegiate, Kelvin High School, Churchill High School, and Gordon Bell High School.

The competition took to the airwaves on CBC Radio's Up to Speed. A panel of judges -- musician Joanne Rodriguez, Mike Petkau Falk of the West End Cultural Centre and Head In The Sand, and songwriter/producer/manager Chris Burke-Gaffney -- narrowed the field down to 10 finalists.

The top 10 also included: Kobalt, Warplane, Adam Hanney, Piss Ticket, Lizard People, A Broken Summer, Premonition, Pocket Change, and Narwhal Strike.
