SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 4pm, Thursday, August 9, 2012

Manitoba Music is looking for artists interested in participating in a Manitoba Music showcase at M for Montreal in Montreal, QC, November 14-17, 2012. This is an opportunity to perform for and network with influential Canadian and international music industry professionals.

M for Montreal is a showcase and networking event held annually in Montreal. It has evolved into an international music event and festival that caters to international music buyers, journalist, and taste makers. The event has been attended by NME, Les Inrockuptible, Windish Agency, Coachella, Glastonbury Festival, SXSW, CMJ, Brooklyn Vegan, XLR8, The Guardian, Paste Magazine, XL Recordings, Kill Rock Stars, The Agency Group, Ryko discs, CAA, CMW, Spiegel and many more.

Interested artists should submit to Manitoba Music using the information below, after applying to M for Montreal at: mformontreal.com/mformontreal/faq/get-involved-artists

To be considered for this opportunity, you must:

  • Have a current or upcoming release (demo / EP / full-length)
  • Be export-ready (able to capitalize on opportunities in Canada and internationally)
  • Have financial capacity to undertake travel and accommodations (Market Access Program support is available, but will not cover full costs)
  • Be a Manitoba Music member

  • “M for Montreal” in the subject line
  • A link to your manitobamusic.com profile page (ensure updated current music, bio, etc.)
  • A rationale for how this showcase fits your career development plan
  • Current high resolution image (300 dpi) or link to where one can be downloaded
  • Short artist bio (approximately 200 words)

Submissions will be evaluated based on:

  • Music
  • Track record
  • Strength of team
  • Export readiness
  • Rationale for the showcase
