A Rock in The Park: South Osborne Venue Turns Seven

The marquee is blinking and music fans gravitate towards The Park Theatre Café this week in celebration of the Winnipeg venue’s 7th Anniversary.

The intimate performance space is a cultural hub, hosting many theatre productions, video screenings, and memorable concerts and events that showcased local bands and touring acts. The anniversary week kicks off on September 5 with acoustic popster JP Hoe and Montreal’s Krief. Roots compatriots Romi Mayes and Jay Nowicki take over on September 6. The Weber Brothers hit the stage the following night, and funk collective Moses Mayes closes the party on September 8.

A birthday isn't the only thing for The Park to celebrate this year. It landed nods for Live Music Venue of the Year and Talent Buyer of the Year for Erick Casselman at the Western Canadian Music Awards. The awards will be handed out in Regina on September 29.
