Manitoba Heads to Regina for 10th Annual BreakOut West Festival

Manitoba is gearing up to take over Regina this weekend. Running September 27-30 in various Regina venues, the 2012 BreakOut West Festival will feature showcases by 11 Manitoba acts, including several nominees for this year's Western Canadian Music Awards, which take place on September 30 as part of the BreakOut West festivities.

Take the stage this year: Francophone popster Daniel ROA, roots/country singer/songwriter Don Amero, indie rock act Federal Lights, R&B/soul chanteuse Flo, acclaimed indie soul/pop duo Imaginary Cities, award-winning Aboriginal rock band Indian City, country crooner Jerry Sereda, acoustic pop singer/songwriter JP Hoe, upbeat country duo Keith & Renee, Brazilian-born guitarist Marco Castillo, and bluegrass outfit Oh My Darling.

Manitoba’s artists and music companies are poised to shine at this year’s Western Canadian Music Awards, landing 33 nominations in 19 categories for the 10th annual celebration of music from the western provinces and territories. The 10th annual event features a conference and three-day music festival with 50 showcasing acts in addition to the two awards shows. BreakOut West presents an incredible opportunity for emerging and established artists to be a part of the western Canadian music community. Participating artists and other music professionals have the chance to meet key industry stakeholders creating the opportunity for a new wave of exciting industry developments from record deals to international tours.
