Things are going to get a little extra fun this weekend in Winnipeg's west central neighbourhood. The Ellice Street Festival, presented by the West End Cultural Centre, is kicking of its 16th annual festivities on June 5, bringing two days of live music, barbecue, a kid's carnival, and more.

The much starts on June 5 with a free concert at the West End Cultural Centre's Ventura Hall with performances by acclaimed blues/roots belters The JD Edwards Band plus singer/songwriter Cassidy Mann.

The fest moves outdoors on June 6 from noon until 4PM with more music, including singer/songwriter powerhouse William Prince, roots rocker Scott Nolan, hip hop artist Fresh I.E., the Mexican trad prog rock sounds of The Mariachi Ghost, and host Seanster and the Monsters.

So get out, celebrate with your neighbours, and start a great summer of live music outdoors.
