Plenty of Local Sounds at Dauphin's Countryfest

Canada's longest running country music festival is gearing up for a busy weekend of music and fun. Dauphin's Countryfest, now in its 26th year, kicks off is annual festivities on June 25 and runs until June 28, hosting over 20 mainstage acts plus two additional stages with bands spanning the genres from country to rock to roots.

The massive music fest's stages will feature a big local contingent spanning the genres, including Doc WalkerLeanne PearsonFinn, The Revival, Fred Penner, The PerpetratorsThe Mariachi Ghost, The Bros. Landreth, The Reverend Rambler, Ridley Bent, Del Barber, Until Red, Indicator Indicator, Quinton Blair, and more.

This year's headliners this year include Miranda Lambert, Gord Bamford, Brett Kissel, Chad Brownlee, Jake Owen, and Brantley Gilbert, to name a few. 

Countryfest will also highlight emerging talent, hosting 730 CKDM's 13th annual Battle of the Bands, which strives to support and encourage amateur talent from across the country. This year's bands include Colour By Numbers, Crossroads, Kendra Kay, Black River Drifters, and The Janzen Boys. Competition takes place on June 25 at the Credit Union Corral Stage.

There will also be plenty of ways to celebrate Countryfest's 26 years in the community, including giveaways and prizes.
