Launching just in time for Canada Day, the new project will introduce audiences to a stellar slate of buzzworthy local artists emerging on the Canadian music scene. To help music fans get to know some of the hottest bands coming out of this province, Manitoba Fresh will feature on-air segments and online performances via Fresh Radio, and in-depth band profiles on manitobamusic.com.
“Our province is teeming with great musicians and Fresh Radio is thrilled to provide a platform to showcase new music,” said Casey Norman, Music Director, Fresh Radio. “Joining forces with Manitoba Music will allow us to provide exposure to exciting local acts and highlight them on our station.”
Electro rock favourite The Revival is the first Manitoba Fresh act, just in time for the band’s blistering set at Canada Day at The Forks’ Under the Canopy stage. When The Revival first united in 2008 to rock Winnipeg’s underground party scene, the name embodied their music – an energizing fusion of past and present, digital and analog. But now, in 2015, that name represents a lot more. The foursome is set to make an impact with the release of its debut full-length in this year through local label, Pipe & Hat. What it showcases is the newest iteration of The Revival’s unique sonic hybridity, blending bits of electro, new wave, and even some world flavours with a foundation anchored in powerful alt rock.
