Posted on

With the nominees for the 2015 Western Canadian Music Awards already announced, it’s time to reveal the performers for the BreakOut West Music Festival. The showcases will run alongside Rifflandia Festival at venues across Victoria, September 17-20, 2015.

Over 60 of Western Canada's best up-and-coming acts are set to perform at the two-night festival, including Manitoba WCMA nominees Dee Erin Band and Ridley Bent, as well as Attica Riots, Iskwé, Sc Mira, The Noble Thiefs, The Treble, and Yes We Mystic

For those hitting Victoria for the festivities, a wristband for all shows can be purchased at rifflandia.com, as all BreakOut West showcases this year will be included in Rifflandia's weekend pass.

Full delegate registration to attend BreakOut West's Conference also includes the Festival showcases and access to Rifflandia shows, and is available now at breakoutwest.ca. Tickets to the Western Canadian Music Awards Gala are included in the full delegate package, however tickets to the Awards Gala may be purchased separately through the BreakOut Wests site.

The 3th annual Western Canadian Music Awards Gala, which is slated for September 20 at Victoria's McPherson Playhouse, will feature performances from several of this year's nominees, including Tanya Tagaq, The Harpoonist & The Axe Murderer, Jesse Roper, The Wet Secrets, Annette, Sarah MacDougall, and 2015 Hall of Fame inductees NoMeansNo (unplugged). CBC Radio 3's Grant Lawrence will once again host the event.

BreakOut West's 2015 Conference also kicks off early bird registration today until August 10, full information on registering is located at breakoutwest.ca. Featuring several artist-to-industry meeting sessions with everything from talent buyers to international agents and managers, over 70 active industry buyers and mover-shakers will arrive in Victoria to participate in the conference. Group discussions, panels, and round table sessions will be held, allowing participants to consult with industry professionals and expand upon their music industry skills. Topics range from planning tours to social media and branding critiques, funding and revenue streams, and music supervisor pitching. The conference will also continue to feature the one-on-one mentoring sessions, a "Welcome to BreakOut West" intro session for all newcomers, and our busy end-of-day networking mixers.
