Local Music in the Spotlight as Manitoba Music and The Good Will Launch New Music Night, September 2

Manitoba Music is teaming up with live music hot spot The Good Will to shine a spotlight on emerging local music. New Music Night, which is set to launch on September 2, offers music fans a space to find their next favourite Manitoba act and get a monthly dose of new original artistic talent.  

The concert series, which features three acts the first Wednesday of the month at the Winnipeg venue, is an incubator for new bands in Manitoba's vibrant music scene, offering performers from any genre an opportunity to get on stage, connect with fans and the local community, try out new material, and perfect their live show.  

New Music Night's debut installment of will feature an eclectic lineup, including garage rockers The Fantastic, funk and soul outfit Jérémie & The Delicious Hounds, and indie pop/rock act Champagne Years. Music kicks off at 8 p.m. and cover is $3.  

The new series builds on previous Manitoba Music events, including a long-running series at Ozzy's, which have been a jumping-off point for many developing acts that have gone on to national and international success, including JUNO Award-winning roots act The Bros. Landreth, pop/rock duo Mise En Scene, pop act The Treble, hip hop outfit Abstract Artform, and indie rock band Federal Lights.
