Canada's urban music world is about to converge in Winnipeg. Kicking off October 16, the inaugural CUT Connex Conference for Urban Culture is bringing three days of live music, workshops, convention, and awards show to Canad Inns Destination Centre Windsor Park. Produced by Canadian Urban Television (CUT), the event is focused on emerging talent across the disciplines, from undiscovered rappers to unknown singers to visual artists, photographers, poets, DJs, game developers, and more.

This year's performer list features dozens of Canadian acts, including strong local representation from Abstract Artform, Alpha Toshineza, Flo, Tiffany Ponce, and many more. Many of this year's acts will also be manning tradeshow booths throughout the festivities, along with reps from music companies like Urbnet, Indie Music Factory, OneHood.ca, and Nu Frequency.

Workshops taking place during the event include beat production, graphics for music, the art of rapping, spoken word, and an indie music pitch session. Check out the schedule

The CUT Hip Hop Awards will roll out the red carpet at Cowboys Nightclub on October 16.

Organizers plan to take CUT Connex on the road to different Canadian cities each year, aiming to connect with, showcase, and celebrate the diverse talent and urban culture from across the country while building CUT TV as an online TV channel and community to promote Canada's urban scene.

We've got a pair of weekend passes to CUT Connex to give away. Enter at manitobalive.ca before 2PM on Tuesday, October 13 for a chance to win!
